Let's face it, hair removal can seem like an endless cycle of tweezing, shaving or waxing. So if you feel like its Groundhog Day (again) then you might give some thought to a more permanent form of hair removal such as laser treatment.
The practice has been around now for 15+ years & is designed to expose the follicle to a highly concentrated light pulse which destroys the hair. Ba-da-boom. Clients typically require several treatments to complete the process but of course this timeframe will depend on your hair type & follicle responsiveness. By the end of the sessions, you'll be hair & care free. It's as easy as that.
Laser hair removal is an effective treatment for those with self-conscious hair growth or for those who just desire a more permanent form of hair removal. Whether it’s your legs, under arms, upper lip, back or bikini area the laser hair removal treatment can be used on any part of the body.
But there are a few things to know about the process to manage your expectations. First & foremost, laser hair removal is a medical procedure so it’s vital to ensure the Technician has the appropriate level of training & experience before going ahead (Mojoguru’s Laser Technician’s have passed our training guidelines). Secondly, you should request a consultation prior to your first session to have any questions answered. You probably have a few burning questions you want answered like is it painful (FYI: it feels like an elastic band flick on your skin - not bad at all).
Laser hair removal will require several sessions with a 1-2 month break between treatments, so it isn’t a one-off procedure & it does take a commitment. It’s also best to have laser treatments performed during winter when sun exposure on your skin is reduced. The treatment is most effective on those with fair skin & dark hair & laser hair removal will not work on white or grey hairs due to pigmentation.
Lastly, some people will require touch up sessions while others will not. It’s just about impossible to predict. Most people walk away very satisfied with the results. It just pays to ensure you understand exactly what is involved before you proceed, so make sure you do your homework & get satisfactory answers.
